Summer Trip
July 2024
Violet Class had a brilliant time on our visit to Boggart Hole Clough including Simply Cycling. We enjoyed a stroll around the lakes before riding on lots of different types of bicycles and vehicles around the track – we loved going really fast! We enjoyed a sunny picnic lunch in the park together before playing in the playground and feeding frozen peas to the geese before heading home. All of Violet Class were wonderful ambassadors to Newlands School.
Easter & Eid Al Fitr
March 2024
This week Violet Class have been learning all about the religious festivals of Eid Al Fitr and Easter. We have been learning to use tools and resources to make things and we have been learning to give attention for longer periods. Violet Class have made Eid cards and Ramadan lantern sun catchers, Easter cards, Easter cakes, enjoyed messy Easter Bucket Times and had an Easter egg hunt in our school woods. We hope all Newlands families have a happy and healthy break.
Happy Healthy Week
February 2024
At the end of last half-term Violet Class enjoyed a Happy Healthy Week with many different experiences where we learned about how to look after our bodies and our minds.
We enjoyed Circus Skills, Yoga, Rugby and a visit from Scarf Coram Life Skills. It was great to see how well Violet Class adapted to a different routine and how they got stuck in with new and different activities with such enthusiasm.
Busy Violet Class
October 2023
Violet Class have been working hard this half-term getting to know each other and showing everyone what they can do. We have particularly enjoyed exploring the new interactive floor in the Light Room and using our whole bodies to make things happen. We have been demonstrating excellent attention in Bucket Time sessions and amazing knowledge of numbers and shapes in Maths.
Autumn 1 Minibus
October 2023
During our Autumn 1 Topic of Buildings, Homes and Habitats: Grand Design, we used our Minibus slot to visit our local area to see what different buildings we have around us. We visited Middleton, Heywood and Rochdale Town Centre. All the children in Violet Class enjoyed exploring the features in our local areas where we found Churches, Libraries, Cenotaphs and we loved looking at the water fountains.
